Gravity, Carved Soft
These pieces aren’t designed to steal attention. They’re meant to hold it—gently.
Each one starts with a solid block of wood and a lot of patience. We don’t sketch first. We just start cutting, sanding, listening. The process takes about three months per sculpture, and that time shows.
Not in the details—there’s no ornament—but in the way the shape feels lived-in. Every curve is soft, slightly off-center, like a river stone worn down just enough. When it’s done, it gets placed on its own plinth. That’s important—it gives the piece space to exist, not just sit. In a room, it doesn’t shout. But it’s there. Like a presence. Familiar, steady, the way a good chair or an old tree is steady. You don’t have to notice it every day. But you will.
